Boeing has revealed its new 747-8 Intercontinental, which instead of Boeing’s standard blue, this one is painted reddish-orange marking it the first of its kind. This new bright color is said to stand for prosperity and good luck in cultures of some of Boeing’s best customers.
The new aircraft will hold 400-500 seats, providing the lowest operating costs for airlines of any other large passenger aircraft, and has even more eco-friendly features as well. Compared to the 747-400, the Intercontinental has 16 percent lower fuel costs, 16 percent lower carbon emissions per passenger, and generates a 30 percent smaller noise footprint. The interior features give passengers the feeling of more space and comfort, as well as more room for belongings.
According to Boeing, “Korean Air and VIP customers have joined launch customer Lufthansa in ordering a total of 33 747-8 Intercontinentals. First delivery of the 747-8 Intercontinental is scheduled for the fourth quarter.”
